President’s Report of 2019

by Engr. Reynald Ilagan, PSPE National President

Foremost, please allow me to thank and commend the outstanding performance of our PSPE National Secretariat headed by Administrative Manager Marisse Siasoco, her ever supportive husband Boyet, and the untiring support of her staff and technical crew; Arch. Jonny Solis, Eric Candido and Daniel Hamon, and the rest of the PSPE National Officers and Members of the Board of Directors who contributed to the success of our programs, projects and over-all operation for the year 2018.

Due to the very hectic schedule of our Annual National Convention, Founding Anniversary, Regional Conference, Technical Symposium, seminars, trainings, workshops and other projects of our society, our National Directorate and Officers decided to continuously implement what have been deliberated and approved during our Planning Session held in Classique Pan Oriental Hotel & Resort, Batangas City. Discussed were the preparation for the Crystal (15th) Founding Anniversary, National Convention & Trade Exhibit this coming April 5-6, 2019 at the Manila Grand Opera Hotel in Sta. Cruz, Manila.

Prior to the much awaited and grandeur event of PSPE in April 2019, our society, in cooperation with Worldbex, held its Technical Symposium on March 15, 2019 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia, Pasay City. Well-known and respected resource speakers discussed topics relevant not only to Registered Master Plumbers, Certified Plumbing Engineers, plumbing contractors and practitioners as well as other allied technical professionals like Agricultural and Bio System Engineers, Architects, Mechanical, Electrical, Geodetic, Electronic, Civil, Structural Engineers but also to Fire Protection Designers, Installers and Enforcers of various Referral Codes of the National Building Code PD1096. It is a great honor and privilege on my part to be a resource speaker for this technical symposium for the topic Design of Hydro-Pneumatic Water Supply.

Last April 6-7, 2018 we held our 14th Founding Anniversary, National Convention and Trade Exhibit at the Manila Grand Opera Hotel and Casino in Sta. Cruz, Manila with the 3rd District of Manila Honorable Representative JOHN MARVIN “YUL CERVO” C. NIETO as Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker. He narrated working as a plumber during his younger days hence his informal affiliation with professional plumbing practitioners. He is also a strong supporter to the mission and vision of the PSPE in the ASEAN Region and the whole of Asia Pacific. After his brief but very meaningful and eloquent address he reiterated his support to PSPE and its cause of uplifting the stature of Master Plumbers.

We would like to thank our major sponsor, trade exhibitors and advertisers for making this a successful event. Most importantly, we would to thank all the delegates that gathered and inspired our theme “Plumbing Engineers Moving towards ASEAN Professional Integration” and took time out of their busy work schedule to join this momentous affair and socialize with other plumbing professionals from varying educational disciplines. This is one single convention where delegates feel secured and at ease because they acquaint themselves with their comrades in profession of the same status.

Again, thank you to our sponsors, exhibitors, resource speakers and delegates for making this event a tremendous success. We are looking forward to your continuous support not only for our National Convention, but to all other programs and activities that PSPE have in store for you for 2019.
